Bakht Nazira is considered a "fast runner", and was able to come to the United States for a Style Road trip, sponsored by a grant from the Bureau of Cultural Exchange in the US State Department and BPeace.
While in New York City she met with Debbie Farah, Bajalia founder, who introduced her to designer districts and boutiques in the city in order to further her education. Bakht Nazira also attended sessions at the Fashion Institute to learn about fitting patterns, trends and clothing construction.
Bakht Nazira now has her husband working alongside her in her business, which makes her even more poised for success as they work together to raise their four children while providing jobs for the less fortunate.
Bakht Nazira went from being unemployed and uneducated in business to being the prime breadwinner for her family and a force of change for her community.
She has learned English, is computer literate and has learned export. She recently helped her husband start another company. |
