Eva

Uganda

Eva moved her family to Kampala to escape the violence of the Lord's Resistance Army in Northern Uganda. She is a single mother and always wore her wrap with her baby tied on to the front of her body to hide her naked chest as she could not afford to buy a blouse.

Her children's clothes were tattered. She lived in a makeshift village under a piece of tarp with her children when a Bajalia partner invited her to join the paper bead co-op.

Today, due to her earnings from the paper bead project, she has clothes for herself and her children, they are in school and Eva is building a house!
