|  Shabnam is a 37 yr old mother of six children with a high school education. While raising her family she kept the books for her husband's growing jewelry business. Most women from this community do not work outside their home. Now that her children have grown up Shabnam is also helping with the production of beaded jewelry. She oversees women of the neighbourhood who come to their house to work helping to control the quality and taking time to teach them the basics of language when asked.
Shabnam knows the value of education and she has encouraged her daughters to pursue higher education. One daughter is now teaching in school and is a a tutor. Another daughter is studying in college. "Our lives have been changed…" | | | |
