| |  Stephanie D. Murphy is a managing director at SunGate Capital, a boutique private equity group. She is responsible for leading due diligence efforts, developing and managing investment strategies, and implementing government affairs initiatives. Ms. Murphy's private sector experience includes providing strategy and operations consulting to Deloitte Consulting's financial services and communications clients. She has also worked on market entry strategies and intellectual property issues for a major pharmaceutical company.
Prior to joining SunGate, Ms. Murphy served as a national security specialist in the Office of the Secretary of Defense. She played a central leadership role in pursuing a focused security agenda for Southeast Asia that aligned partner capabilities and determined effective terms of reference for regional operations. She was also responsible for the development and coordination of the department's strategic guidance for prioritization and allocation of US military assets. Ms. Murphy received numerous awards for her distinguished service, including the Secretary of Defense Medal for Exceptional Civilian Service.
Ms. Murphy is a term member of the Council on Foreign Relations and an alumna of the Atlantic-Brucke Young Leaders Program. She serves on the board of Mead Botanical Garden and is an advisor on family enterprise and social entrepreneurship initiatives for the Center for Advanced Entrepreneurship at the Rollins College Crummer Graduate School of Business. She holds an M.S. in Foreign Service from Georgetown University and a B.A. in Economics from the College of William and Mary. | |
